Exciting military projects

This year we are very excited to have awarded over £35,000 to 7 fantastic charities who do amazing work supporting the military community. This will aid the fantastic projects and plans they have coming up in 2023 and we can't wait to see the results!

Here is a little information about how the money will help a few of those charities...

Hounds for Heroes

Hounds for Heroes provide specially trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled men and women of the UK Armed Forces.

The Big Salute Grant of £10k will fund their Partnerships Aftercare Programme for 3 dogs and 3 beneficiaries for up to 1 year.

Care for Veterans

Care for Veterans is a charity that provides nursing care and rehabilitation to physically disabled ex-Service personnel of all ages.

The Big Salute grant of £10k will help meet the cost of converting one twin room to form two single rooms, thereby improving capacity, privacy for residents and increasing fee income.

Supporting Wounded Veterans

The £5.2k awarded will fund a week of “sporthabilitation” for two veterans. 

This process helps physically and mentally injured military personnel enabling them to regain their confidence and embark up a new path to fitness and wellbeing.

Sporting Force

The £5k awarded is to help meet the cost of providing a hoist for the resistance pool and exercise unit in their gym.

Waterloo Uncovered

This project is focused around a two-week archaeological excavation of the Waterloo battlefield. Veterans work alongside professional archaeologists to learn new skills while uncovering the secrets of this pivotal battle.

The £3.25k awarded will support one veteran's visit to Waterloo.

The Felix Fund.

Felix Fund

The £5k awarded will enhance their Dashboard training and support a newly developed, bi-annual Mindfulness Course for spouses and partners of serving personnel and veteran.

Erskine

They provide support to Veterans in Scotland through their care homes and Veterans Village.

The £1k awarded will help buy equipment for their Veterans Workshop.
