Thank you for choosing to donate to the BFBS Big Salute, our campaign that raises vital funds for armed forces charities, who can apply for grants to support specific projects for the serving military, families or veterans.
There are multiple ways you can donate, and every penny you give goes to the beneficiary projects.
If you’re in the UK, you can donate to The Big Salute by text message. It’s quick and easy, and your donation gets charged through your mobile operator. Donate by texting a keyword to our donation shortcode:
Please compose your text message carefully and ensure you use the correct keyword and correct shortcode.
You must be aged 16 or over to use this service and obtain permission from the bill payer before sending a text message. Text messages cost the donation value, plus your standard network message charge (based on your service provider rates).
Do not use Text to Donate if you are overseas. It will not work with non-UK mobile phone contracts. If you have a UK mobile phone contract, but are outside the UK, you may be charged more due to roaming charges. If you are overseas, please consider donating via JustGiving instead (see below).
Each text message you send (if your keyword and short code are valid, and your text message is received within the campaign dates) will result in a donation to BFBS.
You will receive a confirmation text, inviting you to add GiftAid if you are a UK Taxpayer. This message contain a link to a webpage provided by our supplier DonateHub. It may take a few minutes for your confirmation text to arrive. Any repeat texts will result in repeat donations.
The campaign dates are from the 1st of September 2025 to the 31st of October 2025.
If you would like to donate more than £10, or if you are outside the UK, please consider using Open Banking instead.
As a HUGE thank you for your efforts for everything you have done for our charity the Big Salute, we'd love to play a banging song of your choice on our Big Salute Day, happening on the 16th of October.
Instead of offering online donations by Card, we’re using Open Banking, which allows you to donate to the BFBS Big Salute quickly and securely via a direct bank transfer (BACS) using your mobile banking app or online banking account. It works with the majority of UK banks and launches your own banking app to confirm the donation.
How it works:
There are two way you can donate via JustGiving, one is directly through our BFBS Big Salute page OR if you’re organising a fundraising event or challenge to support the Big Salute, you can set up a fundraising page on JustGiving.
Register on the website, fill in details of your fundraising effort, and your supporters can donate via card, paypal or a range of other methods.

If you are based at the following locations, you can donate to the BFBS Big Salute in person, using cash or card. When donating in person, you can donate in Pounds Sterling or in local currencies.
