BFBS Media Innovation has been testing its welfare media and communications platform, MiPlayer, with Consolite’s military LiFi technology.

Consolite develops and delivers specialised military lighting and optical communication systems, while BFBS MiPlayer provides video, audio, and digital print content via IP networks.

From September 12-15, BFBS invites attendees of DSEI to learn more about the pioneering military charity and media organisation. 

The BFBS Media Innovation team will demonstrate the latest solutions for delivering live and on demand TV, radio and digital newspapers and magazines to UK forces wherever they are based – including live and on demand broadcasting at sea and on demand on submarines – and explain how the same technology can be used by UK partners.

Each year BFBS invites charities to apply for grants of up to £10k to support specific projects for the serving military, families, or veterans, with every penny raised going to the beneficiary projects.

BFBS Announces Partnership with OneWeb

BFBS has announced a development partnership with Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite company, OneWeb. Thanks to the latest technology, the new BFBS MiPlayer Edge and OneWeb’s global constellation network will work together to deliver enhanced media services to the UK Armed Forces, even in the most remote and austere locations.
