We are now open for applications for our Summer 2026 Work Experience programme, for people aspiring to be journalists across social media, website, radio and video platforms.

We have more than 2.2 million subscribers and followers across our YouTube channel and social media platform and also provide news on www.forcesnews.com, BFBS Radio and BFBS TV.

What you can expect:

  • You’ll spend time across news and sport, including with our social media, website, radio and video teams
  • Opportunities to create content for broadcast or publication, supported by our team
  • A newsroom mentor, to oversee and guide your experiences around the newsroom
  • The work experience is unpaid, but reasonable travel expenses will be covered

What we are looking for:

  • People who are studying journalism to NCTJ or degree-level, or have recently graduated from the same
  • Individuals who are interested in military and defence stories, and who are interested in BFBS
  • Someone who is enthusiastic, ready to contribute ideas and demonstrate creative story-telling
  • Applicants must be over 18. Unfortunately, we are unable to support under 18 placements.
